what’s wrong with that

이 노래를 듣는 순간 만큼은 세상에 이보다 더 예쁜 노래가 있나 그 생각을 한다. 이 노래의 가장 좋은 점은 재생시간이 5:55나 된다는 것이다. 이 노랠 듣는 지금, 이 노래가 세상에서 제일 좋다. 어떤 클라이막스랄 게 없이 들을 때마다 그냥 처음 시작되는 요상한 사운드부터 압도되어 6분 동안 쭉 그렇게 듣는다. 비틀즈 해체 후 폴 매카트니가 아내 린다 등등과 결성한 밴드 윙스의 silly love songs. “폴은 바보 같은 사랑 노래만 부른다”는 세간의 소리에 “그래, 맞아. 그게 바로 사람들이 늘상 불러오던 건데, 왜? 문제 있어?” 응수하고는 “그건 그렇고 노래 베이스라인이 참 기가막히게 나왔죠”하고 여유로운 웃음 짓는 그 모습이 상상이 가 더욱 사랑스러운 노래다.

But over the years people have said, "Aw, he sings love songs, he writes love songs, he's so soppy at times." I thought, Well, I know what they mean, but, people have been doing love songs forever. I like 'em, other people like 'em, and there's a lot of people I love -- I'm lucky enough to have that in my life. So the idea was that "you" may call them silly, but what's wrong with that?
